Events
GFWC Lake Mary Woman's Club members have several events and fundraisers planned for 2011-2012 -- the proceeds of which will be awarded to local charities at our May 2012 meeting. Please see our

We gather for our annual Christmas ornament exchange and luncheon in December and donate funds to help needy families.
"Books 4 Buddies" for Safe House of Seminole County is an on-going club project in which members and the community collect used magazines (up to six months old) and other necessities for women and children. Please call 407-323-7476 for more information on this project and where magazines may be dropped off.
We have interesting and informative programs each month. In January, we invited the police and fire chiefs of Lake Mary who gave us pertinent information about the safety of our members in their homes and their well being. The chiefs were presented with plaques of appreciation and cookies were sent back with them to their stations to share with their officers.
In addition to our programs, we have an annual Arts and Crafts awards and the winners go on to District 7's Arts and Crafts competition in February; then those winners go on to the state competition at the FFWC convention in April 2012.
Club members attended the GFWC Florida Federation of Women's Clubs Spring Convention at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando on April 28-May 1, 2011 and GFWC Florida Federation Fall Board Meeting in September.
Each year, GFWC Lake Mary Woman's Club donates scholarships, food pantry items and baskets, school supplies, and participates in local, state and national General Federation of Woman's Club projects. Fundraisers are held during the year to receive donations that enable our club to fund these projects. Fundraising projects for 2011-2012 are sale of plain, cinnamon-glazed and chocolate-covered pecans, and a Fashion Show Tea October 19, 2011 at Timacuan Country Club in Lake Mary and Fashion Show and Luncheon to be held February 2012 at the Marriott Hotel in Lake Mary.
